The Treasurers Insight; Letter from Tim Cummins

My name is Tim Cummins, I am proud to represent The Indianapolis Traffic Club as your treasurer. I’ve been in supply-chain logistics for many years. From an Assistant Warehouse Manager and a Driver in the early eighties for an Indianapolis-based men’s clothing store. To a Transportation Manager for an Indianapolis-based footwear company until retiring in 2016. I now work part-time for PB Logistics Services in Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable in Brownsburg, Indiana, where I reside. I’m amazed by the advancements of technology from the early days to the just-in-time processes of today.

I’ve always enjoyed attending The Indianapolis Traffic Club events. In the past, I was always invited by a Transportation Rep and have made many connections and friends along the way. Since retiring in 2016 I knew I wasn’t just going to sit around. I made a commitment to myself to give back and to volunteer. I have always looked up to individuals who go above and beyond to make a difference in their community and the clubs they serve. The one thing I notice is they appear to be confident and happy with their lives. With that concept, I served as President of the Center Grove Band Boosters when my children were younger. I was on the Board of Directors for The Indy Wine Trail. Now, I am a Board of Director of The Sertoma Club of Greenwood, Treasurer of my HOA, and Treasurer of The Transportation Club of Greenwood.

For The Indianapolis Transportation Club, it has been humbling to be involved in the scholarship process of selecting the top candidates. Better yet, is giving a scholarship to a student and hearing them speak at our annual dinner about what the scholarship means to them and where they are heading for their careers.
